Lida Charami holds a B.Sc. in Archaeology and an M.A. in Museum Studies from the Institute of Archaeology of the University College London (UCL) and an M. Sc. in Computer Science also from for UCL. She currently works in the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas. She has participated in more than 20 projects relating to the documentation of cultural context. Her work interests include building conceptual models and creating schemata and data structures for information systems used in museums and other cultural institutions, establishing new methods for documenting museum objects and monuments and developing thesauri and vocabularies for the humanities. She is also involved in developing standards and good practice guides in the field of cultural heritage documentation. She has published articles in proceedings of international conferences such as The Annual Conference of CIDOC, in Heritage Science and in ERCIM News. She is currently on the editorial board of ERCIM News.
