Dr. Fafalios is a postdoctoral researcher at the Information Systems Laboratory of FORTH-ICS (Greece) since June 2019. Before joining FORTH-ICS (from 2016 to 2019), he was a postdoctoral researcher at the L3S Research Center of the Leibniz University of Hanover (Germany), working in the context of the ALEXANDRIA project (ERC Advanced Grant). He obtained his MSc and PhD in 2012 and 2016, respectively, from the Computer Science Department of the University of Crete in Greece.
Dr. Fafalios’s research interests fall in the areas of Information Retrieval, Semantic Web, Knowledge Representation, and Data Mining, with focus on exploratory and semantic search, semantic data management, and Linked Data. The results of his research have been published in more than 30 refereed research articles. He regularly participates to the programme committee of international conferences and workshops (including ISWC and ESWC), and review papers for international journals (including the ACM Transactions on the Web and the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology).
